Default Auspicious Incantation, meta for monks?

recently i saw a monk use auspicious incantation in ha...i thought that this skill could become meta on monks.

for those of you who are unfamiliar with the skill..here it am.

5 energy, 1 cast, 25 recharge.
"For 20 seconds, the next time you cast a spell it is disabled for an additional (x) seconds, and you gain (x%) of that spells energy cost"

assuming u use 9 inspiration on your monk, the additional recharge is 7 seconds (which was recently buffed from 20 seconds to a variable depending on attribute level) and the energy gain is 164%

I believe this skill would fit right onto a SoR monk, allowing him to use channeling and SoR already had a fairly low recharge so the additional 7 seconds isn't too bad. not to mention the energy gain.

I'm still not sure, want to know what people think of this skill on a monk.

It requires a significant attribute investment. That makes it a lot harder to make a decent prot monk with a decent Gift of Health.

most prot monks already use inspiriation for channeling since gole nerf, SoR monks dont need gift of health but even if it were so..an attribute split like that isn't difficult to manage.

So a typical bar would be:

Shield of Regeneration
Dismiss Condition
Reversal of Fortune
Spirit Bond
Watchful Healing
Deny Hexes
AI
Channeling

Does that make sense?

Watchful Healing is garbage. Unless your using it to CoP off.....which is still iffy.

Channeling requires a way lower amount of points invested though.

I like this now.... combo with balth aura for :S 40 energy at reasonable spec. Smiter is now workable... well, you can spam aoe/rof/guardian/balth aura/zealots with no energy problems, which is nice. IDK how great it is with the damage nerf from the additional recharge, etc though.

A few times when observing ATS, i saw mesmers using it with GoLE and Panic
they would recieve ~44 energy because panic costs 25, but the spell would only cost 15e with GoLE on. Not a bad idea, I guess

I just ran the math on it. At 164% return youre getting 24.6 energy back, round that up to 25 and subtract the cost of 5 so you net 20 energy. So basically its a free SoR and 5 energy on top. Compare w/ GoLE which will allow 2 free spells at 10e each minus the cost of 5 so you really net 15 energy. The math says that AI is better than GoLE marginally, though in practice it requires a signifcant investment in inspiration, MUST be used with a 15e spell or else its essentially worthless, and you need the innitial energy to before you can gain anything back. Personally, i think that GoLE is way more convenient and well worth the 5 less energy it returns for that convenience. However, AI is in the same line as channelling so thats double the emanagement for the same line, albeit 2 skill slots for emanagement is a little over the top. Like what happens with so many good skills in this game im going to say this one comes down to personal preference: numbers or versatility/convenience
